I connected with Tasemere on the Black Professional Tech Network Slack Channel. I was excited to connect with an entrepreneur who has invested in empowering Black business owners in Brooklyn, New York. At the same time her consulting has been requested abroad in Europe and other parts of the world.
Tasemere Gathers has spent a decade working with entrepreneurs in the non-profit sector. Tasemere’s focus on community building/commercial revitalization allows her to quickly understand the challenges that business face and provide actionable solutions that can be implemented. Before launching the brand, Tasemere freelanced in her spare time, giving start up advice to friends and colleagues. After a series of successes, Tasemere knew she had more to offer to the business community. In 2017, Tasemere launched the DM Firm specifically for micro-entrepreneurs and small businesses. Coupling urban planning with business development and strategy, Tasemere’s approach to business is global with clientele reaching as far as the Netherlands. This approach takes into account how cities, culture, politics, and business work together. Tasemere holds a a Bachelor of Arts in History from SUNY Oswego (2008), Masters in Urban Studies from Long Island University (2012), is a Neighborhood Leadership Alumni, and Marketing Certification from the General Assembly (2016).
